Materials Required
Before you start the conversion process, you will need the following materials:
1. Screwdriver
A screwdriver is an essential tool that you will need to dismantle the hardwired ceiling light.
2. Wire cutter/stripper
You will need a wire cutter/stripper to cut and strip the wires from the ceiling light.
3. Electrical tape
Electrical tape is necessary to protect the wiring after you have cut and stripped the wires.
4. Wire nuts
Wire nuts are used to connect the wires.
5. Plug
The plug is what enables you to use the ceiling light as a plug-in light.
Steps to Convert a Hardwired Ceiling Light to a Plug-In Light
Once you have gathered all the materials required, you can start the conversion process. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Turn off the Power
Before you start dismantling the ceiling light, make sure that you turn off the power. Locate the circuit breaker for the room where the ceiling light is located and turn it off.
Step 2: Dismantle the Ceiling Light
Once you have turned off the power, use a screwdriver to dismantle the hardwired ceiling light. Remove the cover and carefully detach the wires from the ceiling.
Step 3: Cut and Strip the Wires
